Day Of Neutrality Update
As everyone surely knew, 16th of December is the Day of Neutrality, at least it is in Turkmenistan, when everyone wears beige or light grey and defers making a decision on anything to 17th or later. There are other conventions, but that pair are the ones that matter.
The update on recent runners is broadly encouraging. EVERYONESGAME went to Cheltenham on the Friday of their two day meeting, for a race on ITV. He acquitted himself very well, beaten only five and a half lengths, but this equated only to seventh place. He did not look out of place in what was effectively a 0-140, so we have a fair choice of races for him over the rest of the season.

From then on it has been all about learning the job for the novice hurdlers. EPHYRA was at Lingfield, and SOMKIYR and YASMINA in the same event at Plumpton. None did badly but Yasmina fared best of them, ending up third and looking like a threat on the railway bend. What was encouraging was that she worked out how to fiddle her way over the jumps when not on a perfect stride, which was a skill not always apparent in her schooling. What follows is an art shot of the pair of Plumptoners – Somkiyr is 5 (dark blue and light brown), Yasmina is 7 (black and yellow).
