Facilities

Shovelstrode Racing is set in the most beautiful natural setting imaginable, a tranquil and private place to train racehorses, and a warm and welcoming location for owners to come and visit their horses.

Over the last twenty years we have invested hugely in the training facilities, and will continue to do so in the years to come.

Shovelstrode Racing boasts the following:

Five furlong carpet fibre uphill gallop.
Two furlong carpet fibre round gallop.
Carpet fibre schooling lane with three chase fences including an open ditch, and three hurdles.
All the gallops and schooling facilities are integrated
60 foot x 30 foot carpet fibre outdoor arena with show jumps, barrels for schooling and jumping practice.
40 foot x 20 foot sand arena for schooling and lunging.
Indoor school with carpet fibre for lunging, breaking and bad weather turnout.
Six horse Monarch horse walker.
70 acres of fenced turnout facilities.

In addition we regularly take the racehorses to local venues for cross country training and galloping

East Bysshe Cross Country & Showground – for away days schooling.
Warren Barn Farm – for away days galloping.

We also have:

An on-site physiotherapist.
A range of massage machines
An acupuncturist who treats the horses every Saturday morning.
