Fijian Independence Day Update
Just a quick update. If things go to plan (as if they ever do!) the first jumper out of hibernation will be GODOT at Kempton’s Sunday meeting, with a couple pencilled in for Plumpton the following day. CLONDAW ROBIN is very probable for that as he is not a good traveller, so what suits him best is anything nearby (he is disinterested in Fiji Day, just in case he gets an invite to the ceremonies). Shortly after that, there are one or two possibles for Chepstow, including GOLD CLAREMONT, although the ground will dictate whether we ship off down there.
On the horse population front, we have eminent retiree FINNEGAN’S GARDEN back at Shovelstrode. He was acting as if a bit homesick at his livery yard, and when it was mentioned that we would be celebrating Fiji Day, he could not get back here quick enough. We are celebrating it via the medium of gallops in the wind and drizzle at Woldingham, which is not on his agenda, but it is the principle that counts…
Here we have today’s red kite dodgers finishing their intervals at Woldingham – from front to back they are Suzy Wood, La Dolce Dolly, Flemen’s Tipple and Birdman Bob. The blurry thing in the sky just before the final pair is the lookout kite, but Suzy was about to flush a bunch of them out of the trees.
