Early November 2023 Bulletin
The November unleashing of the string took a few days extra to begin due to Lingfield being off and then BACKINFORGLORY being balloted out at Huntingdon, where they have marked a busy run of fixtures by starting building work that reduces the stable capacity to fifty-one. And seven race cards do not help chances of beating the ballot. CLONDAW ROBIN also got an X on his ballot at Plumpton, but we did field GODOT and DEN THE DIVA on that day. Both travelled very well until the last furlong or so, where lack a prep run showed. BACKINFORGLORY had a similarly encouraging experience at Warwick despite the fear that ground was too soft for her, but after she missed all of last season, the good blow out that she had was important. BEAUFORT WEST and VINTAGE ICON also made their autumn debut with the former running especially well at Chepstow. However, the momentum of a busy week stalled when Fontwell was called off, depriving SHAW’S CROSS of his return to action. He is also in at Fakenham next Monday, but the balloting sequence looks unfriendly (again).
