May Bank Holiday Weekend News

We had a couple of third places over the end of May bank holiday weekend. On Sunday Monty’s Award was not totally comfortable with the good to firm ground at Fontwell, but he looked after himself, as he is inclined to do, and emerged unscathed and in the frame. A day later we took Harry Hazard to Huntingdon because it was really the only viable race for him, even though he was out of the handicap. Harry was up in contention all the way and give us an absolute belter of an effort until running out of steam at the second last fence, which is not surprising given it was his first chase back from another spell on the sidelines. Hopefully he can stay healthy enough to build on it.

Above is Monty at Fontwell, almost winning the “balance a beach ball on your back” competition. Below is Youm Dejraan, Secret Circle Racing Club horse for the autumn, having more fun out in the field than he is letting on (or he was until Clondaw Robin went out and joined them).

There have been a couple of recent retirements from the equine team. Oscar Asche was not really giving his races his all, and did not seem to enjoy the job any longer, so we are looking for a new role for him. Also retired is Clondaw Robin. Take a look at the Horses For Sale page, under Horses in top menu, to see who have available shares for next winter. We are also planning to be at Ascot sales next week and in July, so keep an eye on here for any new arrivals.
