Okinawan Island Language Day update
No activity on the racing front to report since the last update, but we are hoping to run FLEMEN’S TIPPLE in the stayers’ race at Plumpton on Sunday. The ground looks a bit quick at the moment, but we have plenty of faith that Marcus and his team will get it to be good by raceday.
There have been a couple of new horses for the yard. Roger Hoad has sent us an unraced Highland Fling colt, who is three years old, nicknamed Nibby. He is quite an immature type, so not going to be seen on a track imminently, but he has created a good first impression at Shovelstrode. In this picture, he seems to have made himself at home.

Originally we noted of having picked up EVERYONESGAME at the Tattersalls online sale this month. He was a useful novice hurdler, then changed stable and lost his form after that. The plan is to fix whatever has discombobulated him and take advantage of a well handicapped horse.
But there was a webmaster oversight (booo!), in that we also bought the final lot, TROPICAL SPEED. He is a pretty consistent staying hurdler, as long as he is kept in the right grade, and our local tracks usually do provide plenty of those opportunities.
These two are both for sale.
One final note – we are looking for a good home for PRIVATEARING, who has retired due to not being able to shake off an injury. Please get in contact if your dream acquisition is a bay Black Sam Bellamy gelding with a fairly light racing career.
