End Of Season Update

GOLD CLERMONT just failed to make it her third win of the season at Plumpton. She was a lot happier there than she had been when beaten at Hereford, and put it a gutsy display to worry an in form winner all the way to the line. With the last day of the season coming only six days after that run, she is obviously not going to get another stab at the job before the end of term. In theory, the weather forecast says that she is not likely to get her ground again before the autumn, but that has been the case for several weeks, so who knows? Anyway, it seems as if Gold Clermont was herself quite pleased with how it finished.

As for the rest of us, the new season starts on Monday, with entries at Kempton and Warwick. Hopefully PRIVATEARING’S new status of “runner-up to a Punchestown Festival winner” will inspire him to go one better!
